Love

Love is something the world can't live without. It is everywhere. It is how relationships are made. There are many.

  1. A mother and her child. The most loving and cherished.
  2. A father and a child. An enjoyable yet heart warming experience.
  3. Siblings. Annoying but playful.
  4. A husband and wife. Lovely and caring.
Everywhere weddings are celebrated as a ceremony of love. The bride and groom have chosen each other for the rest of their lives. It shows that they can make the right choices and are ready to do anything for each other.
  • America-The bride wears her traditional white dress and walks down the aisle holding a bouquet with her father. The groom waits at the alter. The couple makes their vows and exchange rings. Then the groom may kiss the bride.
  • Spain-The bride and groom wear the same clothing as read in the american weddings. Thirteen gold coins are exchanged to honor the ceremony. The two also exchange rings as well. Click  here for more information.
  • India- The cermony can last anywhere from four days to one week. The last day is the day of the ceremony. The bride applies henna on her hands and wears a sari along with jewlery. The bride and groom make their vows and walk around a fire for seven rounds.
All of these weddings take place for one reason only, for love. What would a world be without love? You won't be able to understand everyone and their feelings. Love is an essential part in everyone's life.

My Dream Job

I think twelve year olds can have the ability to chose their future career. Yes, I agree it can be early. Though with a goal in front of them, anyone will do anything to achieve it.
Everyone has a dream for their goal in life. It could vary to becoming a millionaire to going to a good university. Mine is to be a doctor. I want to work in a hospital and take care of newborn babies. Babies are adorable and I have always loved to care for them. Starting from helping my mom with my brother to my current one year old cousin. Mostly I like to feed and play with them while seeing the smile on their faces. I would like to do the same thing for other parents.
One of the main reason I've always wanted to be a doctor is because I would have the ability to help people. In this case it is babies and parents. I'd like to keep the babies happy and healthy while keeping their parents reassured that their baby is in safe hands. It has always been my goal to help people in some way when I'm older. Now I've found the perfect way to do it. All I need is determination, inspiration, and perseverance. I will never give up my dream and I will always have faith in myself.

1000 Views!

I would like to say thank you to all of my viewers. I finally got 1000 views all because of you. Thank you for reading my blog and liking it so much. I hope you will read many more posts to come.

A Perfect World

In Enlish we are reading a book called, The Giver. I predict it will be about a man living in an imperfect, chaotic world. He tries to imagine himself living in a perfect world, the total opposite of where he is living. His dream becomes reality by him "giving" all he can to help his city. I ask myself and you, what is a perfect world?
Everyone has their own definition of a perfect world. For me, there is world peace, no pollution, no poverty, and everyone is treated the same. There is no war, like the ones going on now, the world is clean, instead of a big mess, and there aren't any poor people or people that are treated differently. A day in my perfect world would be to go to school later and come back earlier, spending more time with friends and family, and being outside more often. Everyone would want a perfect world. The question is, if we can dream one, can't we make one?

Ugh! I Don't Know What To Write About!

One of the most annoying thing that can happen in English is writer's block. It's when you have to write something, but you don't have one single idea in your brain. All writers experience it. Today that happened to me.
That is why I am writing this post. To explain why writer's block can really bother you. You either run out of inspiration or ideas, or you get easily distracted. If you have experienced this, which I know all of you have, you can easily understand my condition. Why, I'm writing about writer's block, while having it at the same time! That probably is very surprising, but it's true. Can you believe it? A person is having writer's block while telling people about it! This may be weird though it is a common condition for all writers. They just need to get through it and at the end, they make a masterpiece.

Keeping Up With An Average Sized Family

One of the things that come along with a little person is keeping up with an average sized family. Unless both of your parents are little people too. But in this case it isn't. Anyway it is fun most of the time, but frustrating in others. It's only a family of four, my dad and mom and my brother and I.
Of course siblings can be really annoying, but in the end you have to love them. Even if he gets on my nerves by putting stuff where I can't reach it (my brother is eight but a lot taller). The point is that even if most of my things in the house are not to my reach, I still have help. Plus, when I am with my family I don't realize that I have a different height than I am supposed to. Family is very important and without one it is almost impossible to live life.

Speculative Prompt

Isabella's Trip To The Principal's Office
Isabella is a student at Robinson High School. She is a senior and is reaching the end of the school year planning what she will do in college. Isabella or "Bella" as her friends call her, is a perfect student. The type that teenagers want to be, popular, intelligent, beautiful, athletic and fun to be with. She has a perfect grade point average and is kind to everyone she meets. Isabella figures she has done nothing wrong until... she gets called down to the principal's office.
It was during passing while Isabella and her friends were headed to their favorite class, English. A moment later there was an announcement," Isabella Peterson, report to the principal's office!"made by the principal herself, Mrs.Kennedy. Isabella's books fell out of her arms, her friends were astonished. I didn't do anything wrong, she thought.

"Do you want one of us to come with you Bella?"one of her friends offered.

"No, it's fine, really. I wouldn't want you guys to be late for class." she replied.

Her friends said unsure"Okay then. See you later."

As Bella walked slowly to Mrs.Kennedy's office she couldn't figure out what she did wrong. She said to herself, " I get straight A's. I do what I'm told. I am always nice to anyone I meet. What could I have done wrong?... Could it be? Would I really be in trouble for doing that? I only did it once. I WOULD NEVER do it again!" There it was. The door to her office. Bella turned the door knob reluctantly as she walked in.

She asked, " May I come in, Mrs.Kennedy?

"Oh. Isabella is that you? We have something very important to discuss." the principal stated.

'Uh oh,' Bella thought.

"Isabella I am very..."

"Disappointed I know. I mean how could a student like me forget a single homework assignment? That is very..."

"Isabella,"

"Irresponsible I know. How could I just let that slip out of my head?"

"Isabella, this is not about your missed homework assignment."

"It isn't?" Isabella just stared at her. " Then what did I do wrong?"

"You did nothing wrong my dear. I just wanted to tell you how proud I was of you. Remember those four college applications you filled out?"

"The ones to Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and  John Hopkins? Of course I remember them. I sent them three weeks ago."

" Yes, and since you are such a great student, they said they would be delighted in accepting you. Along with that, you are one of the top five students with a scholarship to any of these four colleges. This has given me the decision to make you valedictorian of your class." Mrs.Kennedy smiled.

Isabella's jaw dropped open. She was ecstatic. "That's amazing! I can't believe this! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"You are very welcome. I am delighted to have a student like you. You may now proceed to your regular routine."

So she left to her English class. She couldn't wait to tell her friends and parents. This was one day of high school she would always remember. The only problem was... she couldn't choose which college she wanted to go to. She was stuck between Stanford and John Hopkins. Stanford was closer to home so that beat the tie for her. Isabella couldn't be more happier. Her hard work paid off after all.

Gift of a Friend

Friends are always there for you. It doesn't matter what situation you are in. They will always lend you a helping hand. It can seem like they you everything about you, more than you can every imagine. Yes, we could live a day without them, like on they weekends, but when they moved can you really? No, we may not. This is the time where we learn the importance of a friend. How the friend not only becomes a companion, but a gift.
They could be the most important gift of all out of everything you have recieved on a holiday or your birthday. For they are much more valuable than a jewl or a toy that only gives you happiness for less than a year. This is such since you see something special about your friend everyday. They can become so close to you that they can act as another sibling. A family member in which you can never live without.
Everyone has friends. They make us happy. We'll cherish them forever and never forget them. They are one of a kind. Nothing in the world can replace them.

This post is deticated to all my friends. I will always take the time to remember you.

Everyday Routine

Is there ever really a time during the day that you don't have to rush to go do something? There is always a specific time for everything. Starting from the time you wake up to the time you have to go to sleep. Without our regular routine we wouldn't be doing the same thing everyday. For example, a regular day for a student like me is, you wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, go to school, come home, do homework, relax and go to any extra classes/activities, eat dinner, spend time with family while watching t.v., and go to sleep. Same thing everyday for five days.
What if everyday would be different? Even though there is something new in store everyday, the theme still stays the same. When living everyday differently there is more suspense to your day. You might look foward to it more. How about if only our attiduede was different. That we would act as if everyday, we are seeing the world for the first time.

Problem in Libya

You have all heard about the fighting in Libya, but do you clearly now why?

It is because of the ruler of Libya himself. His name is Muammar Gaddafi. He has planned to dictate Libya, already ruling for forty two years. The citizen want a government based on democracy. They would like a new ruler and the choice of that ruler.
The problem started with many protesters asking for Gaddafi to stop ruling the country. This caused havoc and made Gaddafi loose control of Libya. Now they re fighting for justice will Gaddafi won't give up. He wants to still be a ruler and take control. Now our own country has gotten into the problem and are trying to save innocent lives.
Will Gaddafi give up. Will America succeed? Will Libyan citizens finally get their justice and liberty? When will these questions be answered?

Is Money Really Everything?

Money is something no one can live without. We have all used it before and it is why we have the things we do today. Imagine how far a little piece of paper or metal has gotten in thousands of years. Dollar, pound, rupee, euro, these are all different types of money used in different countries. We use dollars, England uses pounds, India uses rupees, and most of Europe uses euros. They all hold one purpose, and that is to buy our necessities.
What if money was never used? That the person who discovered it never came up with it. Everything would be for free and for no values. People wouldn't have to worry about being rich or poor because we would all be in the same class. Each thing would have the same value as the next.
Which world would you rather live in. One with money or one without? A world in which everything has a different value or a world in which everything would have the same value?

Great and Poor Teachers

Today in English we watched four videos. One of them was about what great and poor teachers do differently. Great teachers enhance your learning and make you want to think every morning, 'What am I going to learn today?'. Poor teachers just write on the board and just tell you to write the notes down, therefore thinking that the notes will explain everything and the teacher doesn't have to explain anything. We all have teachers like I said in both of these examples.
Great teachers explain everything to you until it's in your head and you understand it. They'll do anything they can to make sure that you know what goes on during lessons. It's their job to teach. They take it as a gift, not a sorrow. They want you to be the best you can.
Poor teachers are the opposite. They don't care what goes in your brain, they are just their to do their jobs. That is to write down notes on the board, let you copy it, and get paid. It might even seem that they are the reason that some students get poor grades.
Now you see the difference between these teachers. We have them both. Whether we like them or not. All of them has their own way of teahing.

Chores, Chores, Chores

Chores, the dreaded word that most kids aren't very fond of. We all have to do them. There's no doubt about it. Here's my question though. Why do most kids prefer not to do them? Is it because it takes to much time? To kids, they feel like they have much better things to do than help around the house all day. Not for me. I for one, love to do my chores.
Chores are fun to me. I don't know why kids are complaining about it , when all you have to do is, do it. Washing the dishes, cleaning the room, making my bed, helping with dinner, vacuuming the floor, I love to do them all. It takes up my time when I'm bored or have nothing to do. Helping my parents feels good. It takes work off their shoulders after a hard day.
Parents feel relieved when their kids help them. Doing one simple deed can make their day easier. Don't you love seeing the smile on their face, after you're done and you can't help but smiling too? It's a simple task, and you can learn to love it. After all, you will be mastering these chores when you're older, and you have no choice but to do them. This is just our training.
So learn to do them and soon love them. This is just the beginning before we get to do harder tasks. It's not even a chore when we are used to doing it. It becomes a part of our daily routine. Not just something our parents ask us to do. Chores, chores, chores, do them, love them, be good at them.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Percy Jackson and the Olympians are my favorite series. It consists of five books about a boy, Percy Jackson, and his life as a demigod. The books mix with fiction and Greek mythology. Percy is the son of Poseidon, the sea god and one of the three main gods(Zeus and Hades) are the other two. All demigods or half-bloods have to go to Camp Half-Blood every summer to be safe and train to fight monsters. There, they realize that Percy is the one of the Great Prophecy and when he turns sixteen he has to make a decision that either saves the world or ends it. Now I am going to give a brief summary of all five books so you know more about them.

The Lightning Thief:
Lightning thief.jpgPercy finds out he is the son of Poseidon and goes to Camp Half-Blood for the first time. He goes on his first quest with his new friends, Grover a satyr and Annabeth a daughter of Athena, to find Zeus's master lightning bolt. After fighting many monsters the team finds the lightning bolt and returns it to Zeus on Olympus(sixhundreth floor of the Empire State Building) and Percy finally gets to meet his father.

Sea of Monsters:
PercySeamonsters.gifPercy has a new cabin mate in the Poseidon cabin, his half brother Tyson who is a cyclops. Thalia's tree(a daughter of Zeus was turned into a tree and protects the camp's borders)is dying and the only way to save it is to retrieve the golden fleece. Another quest is given and Percy, Tyson, Grover, Annabeth, and Clarisse(daughter of Ares) go to accomplish it. They get the golden fleece and the magic was so strong that Thalia came back alive herself.

The Titan's Curse:
The titan's curse.jpgThe three friends are on a mission to get Bianca and Nico di Angelo to Camp Half-Blood. Then Annabeth and Artemis go missing. Percy, Thalia, Zoe(a hunter of Artemis), Bianca, and Grover go find the monster Artemis went searching for. They find the monster Bianca and Zoe get killed(Bianca because of a monster, Zoe was killed by her father, a Titan). Annabeth is found and Zoe becomes a new constellation.
Battle of the Labyrinth:
PercyBattleLabyrinth.jpgDuring a camp battle Annabeth and Percy find an entrance to the Labyrinth. Luke could use this maze to get past camp borders and destroy it. Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Tyson try to find Ariadne's string and Daedalus(creator of the Labyrinth) before Luke, they don't. At the end they find that Kronos is taking over Lukes body and in a matter of months will be able to destroy Olympus. The Last Olympian:
As Percy's sixteenth birthday is coming up, the camp is getting ready to find Kronos's army. The gods are busy fighting Typhon, an enormus monster. They fight many monsters during the war and defeat Kronos with Luke also getting killed. With all of their accomplishments they get great prizes, and Olympus is saved.
Lastolympian.gif

Now you know why I love the series so much. It is filled with action, suspense, and interesting facts about Greek gods. I recommend for many of you to read this series and I know you'll love it as much as I do. Books are a treasure, don't ignore it.

Jyoti Amge

Here is just a regular picture of school girls and one toddler in the middle, yes? Well that isn't true. You see a group of girls and one much shorter than all the others but all of them are the same age. Would you believe that they are all in the age range of fifteen to seventeen years old?
The significant girl in the middle is named Jyoti Amge. She is only two feet tall and weighs about seven pounds. She lives in Nagpur, India with her four brothers and sisters. She plans to be a Bollywood actress when she grows up (Bollywood is where films in India get made, much like Hollywood in California). This girl has gone through a challenging life with many hopes an dreams.
She has gone through many surgeries and check ups. She has surgeries every once in a while to make walking easier for her. Doctors still aren't sure what type of dwarfism she has. They just know that her body isn't growing. This is an amazing girl. Her attitude and smile can make any one's day. It seems that it doesn't even matter that she is shorter than anyone else.

I would like to end this post with a question. It Jyoti doesn't care about how short she is, why do the rest of us care about how we look, what we wear, what we do, and who we hang out with. We should all be thankful for what we have and live life as it is with a positive attitude.

Winning and Losing

For the past two or three weeks in English class we have started a new persuasive unit called the Apprentice. It consists of four tasks which "companies" will be competing in. My company is called Excel and the three other teams are Hydra, Apex, and Synergy. At the end of this unit only one company will be hired into Spoole Industries. So far, my team is in the lead, followed by Hydra, Synergy, and lastly Apex.
We have completed two tasks so far. The first board room was won by my team earning fifty points. The second board room Hydra won with one hundred twenty five points. After the first board room I noticed that most of my friends in the class seem to infer that Excel wouldn't just win this board room, but also be hired into Spoole Industries. They thought that since we got along so well and did every thing on time and correctly it wouldn't matter if they even tried.
With that attitude set in their minds it seemed as if they would give up very easily. The truth is there is always room for improvements. If you just think you won't win you won't, but if you give you and your team a chance you will have the courage and determination to win. Without everyone putting their best efforts there is no suspence which makes the Apprentice very exciting. You should always follow your dreams and goals and with confidence and teamwork you can win.

Problem With Their Dads

"That stuff about my father was true,"Freak says,"The Fair Gwen won't talk about it. All she says is, 'He made is decision and I made mine.' But I know he ran away because of me."
-Freak

Grim out in  the kitchen on night, after supper whispering to Gram had she noticed how much Maxwell was getting to look like Him? Which is the way he always talked about my father, who had married his dear departed daughter and produced, eek eek, Maxwell. Grim never says my father's name, just Him, like his name is to scary to say.
-Max

Freak and Max are best friends with one main thing in common. Both their dads abandoned them for different reasons. Imagine, living without your dad and just your mom or grandparents. The fact that they abanded you and the thing that everyone talks about , is all because of their dads. Living with that coming back in your mind every minute seems unbearable. For this reason, Max had always been too tuogh. The action of just one person can change your life forever.
The reasons that the two don't know thier dads are very different. It is said that freak's dad disappeared when he heard the words "birth defect" from the doctors at the hospital. He realized his child had a disability and left him for his wife to have all the responsibilities of a child. Max's dad is known as "Killer Kane". From his nickname you can tell he is a suspect of murders. He is now in jail and is soon to be released. Both their dads have a secret in which I infer Freak and Max wouldn't care if they came back for  them.

Friends at First Glance

It was another warm and sunny day, the kind that if you try looking up the bright sun blinds you. Trees were surrounding the big, two story middle school, Herbert Hoover Middle School. Cars drove their way in to drop off the new coming sixth graders that were in them. The wind, a nice friend said hello, and strode around all of us gracefully and quietly. Slowly I walk into the doors of my new school.

Everytime I meet someone new they usually ask about my size, sometimes they compliment me because of it. I don't mind at first because soon they, the curious sixth grader, would be my friend. They might not know it at first, but about a week later we seem as if we have known each other for years. It doesn't take long to be friends. You just need to find one thing you have in common and strike up a conversation. Even if you have on thing in common it still helps because that might be the only thing you talk about but it won't matter. The
important thing is that you made a friend just by being yourself.

Should Electives be Applied for? That's Not Fair!

Why would you have to apply for a certain class, like your electives to be chosen for? Electives have always been fun classes to attend. They aren’t usually academic, but they teach you new skills that might come in handy later on. Plus, it wouldn’t be fair to students who always think of themselves as poorly educated or one who always gets bad grades. These classes are supposed to be fun, exciting classes that students always enjoy.
Electives shouldn't’t be for students to compete and think of themselves as the best to be in that class. Every class that a student attends is for one main purpose, the joy of learning. If students were to write a resume, cover letter, and application the judges or teachers always have a chance of saying “no” to that student. In that scenario the student doesn’t get to go to the class they want and never learn whatever was taught. It divides up the students between smart children and not as smart. Like I said before this would be unfair to many students and never gives them a chance to learn. For this reason, I believe that a student shouldn’t have to write a resume, cover letter, and application to be in a certain class.

Quote About Time

"The past is history, the future is a mystery, today is a present, so spend it peacefully." - Anonymous

What does this quote mean?

If there would be only one thing people in this world should be worrying about it is time. When was the last time we didn't care what was happening around us. Time would just freeze at that moment and we wouldn't mind one bit. It's a moment in which peace takes over your body. The happiest time of your life. Everyone remembers their favorite time of their life. It's a once in a lifetime chance.
Now everyone works fast. They are running around from place to place only caring about time. What if time was never noticed by humans? People would just be going through life not ever having a daily schedule. You wouldn't care what happens when. The day before is forgotten. The future would never be cared about. Humans would never evolve to what they are today. All thanks to one little word, time.
Time was always there. Even if we never would have known why the sun sets, why the seasons change, or why we even grow up. Time is something which can never be stopped. Live your life everday in an enjoyable way. The past was full of possibilities we had accomplished, while the future beholds new ones. Today is a time to make your dreams come true. Live your life as if it were different everytime you woke up.

Keeping Things Unorganized

When did people stop caring to be organized?

There is no reason to be messy or say that “I am too lazy to make things organized” or “I like it this way”. It just isn’t right. People should clean up after themselves instead of just putting everything in one big pile. Before you know it everything in that pile will be in the garbage can and you end up loosing something really important.
If that becomes your habit then there will be dirty, messy piles all around the house and you will end up finding nothing. When you look everywhere, you have a feeling it’s somewhere but you never find it. That pile then turns into a black hole.
This is what annoys me the most. People throw things around everywhere and don’t even care to clean it up. It’s like littering in your own house! Why would you want to make your own house a dump instead of a paradise? To me that makes no sense at all. I mean, would it kill you just to clean up after yourselves or be a little neat? It won’t take much time unless you have a really big mess in front of you. All you need to do is sort the mess into piles and put them back where they belong. Now was that so hard?
I blame technology. T.V, computers, phones, and other electronic devices keep kids from doing what they’re supposed to do at that time. Parents keep yelling at them to clean their room, do your homework, come down for dinner, etc. All that’s keeping them from doing what they are supposed to do first is the screen in front of them. I say parents tell their kids to do their priorities first then think of a limited amount of time for their kids to spend on electronics. It’s about time kids start doing what they need to first.

My Ear Surgery

If you think back to one of my previous posts, you would remember the one about surgeries. I told you that an achondroplastic dwarf like doesn't usually get many surgeries, however there is one surgery that is common between most of them. That is an ear surgery. It is not as bad as you might think it is. If you have had this before you know what I mean.
It first starts out as a hearing loss. Everyday it gets worse and worse. There came this one point in which I was sitting on the closest sofa to the t.v. and I had to turn the volume all the way up to one hundred. It didn't sound as if it was the loudest sound I ever heard. It sounded like the volume was on average. Later on my parents took me to the doctor to see what was wrong. They found out that there was a lot of dry wax in my ear blocking some water that is supposed to come out. When it was time, they put these special tubes in my ear to make me hear better.
After all that was done my ear started to ache and I couldn't bare to hear anyone talk. This time I felt like putting the volume on my t.v. as low as twenty. Also every time I took a shower I had to put cotton in my ear. Later on they took my tubes out and now I can still here fine.

New Year's Resolutions

At the starting of every year you have heard people say, "My New Years resolution is..." The reason people do this is because they don't want to repeat the same mistakes they did the  year before. If they set a goal for themselves they can achieve it and feel good about themselves that the New Year will be different. This year I have set twelve goals for me to accomplish.

Goal #1
Spend More Time With My Family
Family time is important, because of this I plan to spend more time with them. Every moment in time is precious and I want to spend most of them talking, eating, and playing games with my family

Goal #2
Keep My Grades at an A Average

Goal #5

Goal #6
Be a Faster Runner
The length of my legs are short so that causes be to be a little slower than everyone else. By the end of the year I hope to improve my usual speed.

I have been scared of getting stuck in an elevator. Now I say when I am in one, I won't panic and I'll just press the emergency button and I'll get out sooner or later.

Goal #9
Blog More Often
I love to blog and I do it every week. I hope to sometimes do it twice a week, because sometimes I come up with a great idea for a post and think that I'll have to do it next week, by that time it's forgotten.

Goal #10
Be Able to Cook a MealI love to cook, but when I do I am helping my mom with a portion of the meal. I hope to cook a meal the whole family will enjoy.

Goal #11
Use a Cell Phone Wisely
If I get I cell phone for my birthday this year I plan to use it wisely. That means I won't spend the whole day talking or texting my friends.

Goal #12
Don't Spend the Whole Weekend on T.V or the Internet
Every weekend there comes a time when I am bored and have nothing to do. That's the time I watch t.v. the most or go on the computer. I hope that instead of doing those things the rest of the day I'll find an alternative activity which is just as entertaining.
