Simranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04185129000071918101noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6948875417746397381.post-26726776272985378362012-10-26T12:42:00.001-07:002012-10-26T12:43:41.316-07:00New Blog Hello viewers! I'm so happy that more and more people are reading my blog everyday. I have decided to make a new blog titled, Being Human. Her mother tries to get a law passed but can't because it doesn't physically harm the victim. In the end, the mother does get a bill to be written, and Taylor, the victim, tries to live her life as it was before.<br /> In the past decade, there have been many cyberbullying cases as technology evolves. Taylor and her family was lucky. They didn't lose a daughter, sister, friend. Some were not as lucky. Take Megan Meier for example. She registered for a MySpace account and befriended a fake profile. Later on, he started bullying her and in the end it was only one message that did it. Only one message that caused Megan to take her life. <em style="position: relative;">This world would be better off without you.</em><br /><em style="position: relative;"> </em><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;"><em style="position: relative;"> </em></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">A law is being waited to be passed. Now, if you are a bully, you can't only be expelled from school, you can be arrested. People think they can't get into trouble if they're saying bad things on the internet about a person. They think, because adults aren't supervising them every minute of the day, they have the right to do whatever they desire. They're wrong</span></span></h2>
<h2 class="element editable-text" id="787138730905230816" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0.3px; background-color: white; font-family: Telex, 'Myriad Pro', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: 400; line-height: 1.2; margin: 0px; padding: 0.4em 0px;">

It's serious. Now that something is being done about it, it is serious. Sometimes it's not only the bully's fault. If your the victim you need to shut down the site right away. It can get out of hand really easily. Kids think parents are only there to admonish them. They're there to help you when no one else is. Listen to them. Megan was also told to shut down her MySpace account. She didn't. I'm not saying it's always the victims fault, but they have a decision to act. Suicide is never the answer. It's just another way to run away from your problems.</span></span></h2>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> You have a choice. Stop cyberbullying. Take down your account, walk a mile in someone else's shoes, don't be afraid to help. You can make a difference. <em style="position: relative;">It all starts from a choice. Your choice.</em></span></h2>
<h2 class="element editable-text" id="787138730905230816" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0.3px; font-weight: 400; line-height: 1.2; margin: 0px; padding: 0.4em 0px;">

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The stars shine bright</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Who knows what's beyond the light?</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For when it's dark,</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">There will be light, </span></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"> As you have read my little poem, you can tell I'm a fan for the stars. I don't mean actors or actresses, singers or dancers. No. I mean the ones up there. The ones shining bright above our heads, those tiny, little balls of light. Since the past couple of months, I've taken an interest in the stars.</span></span></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> The way they shine to show us a path. The way they form to create a constellation. The way they give us hope. Uncountable they are, and mesmerizing in each and every way. There's galaxies and a whole universe full of them. They hold a mystery just waiting to be uncovered. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> Haven't you all wished upon a star, waiting for that wish to come true? Experience the wonder of knowing what's out there? I have. Curiosity is the one emotion that never leaves my side. Asking millions of questions to finally get answers is one of the things I love to do. I want to know what's out there. Is it heaven, or is it just more stars? </span></div>

They're one of them, watching us, guiding us to the right path. It's like they're their with us, always willing to help. There are theories, and there are fantasies. Who really knows what's out there?</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> One day . . . Someday I wish to know. I wish to lay out a blanket on the fresh, green grass and explore. Just watch. Take a telescope, a book, and just watch. There in the calmness of nightfall, with the chirps of the crickets, watching the sun bade goodbye and waiting for the stars to come and greet me hello.</span></div>

Two years ago, I was walking through the doors of Herbert Hoover Middle School as an anxious sixth grader. Now I’m already an eighth grader hardly believing that sixth grade ever happened. Where did the time go? Certainly not out of the window! I know it happened, but why so fast?</span></span></span></span></div>

This year though, it’s different. It’s like fifth grade all over again. We’re at the top of the world! The sixth and seventh graders look up to us. Of course with every year our responsibilities, homework, and . . . </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 19px; font-style: italic; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">everything </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 19px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">increases. Though even with all these cons there are pros. We have two electives instead of one, the new ones being technology education and home economics. For field trips, we get to go out of state to visit two of the country’s main historic cities, Boston and Washington D.C. There’s much more to being the senior most class than you would think.</span></b><b style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 19px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>It’s only a week since school started, but I’m getting used to my classes quicker than I expected. The teachers are all nice, some calm and sedate, and others loud and bold. Classes aren’t as different, but definitely more interesting than they used to be. For example, in Social Studies, we get to go more into depth about the immigrants coming to the country, and about the historic American Revolution. Don’t let the fact; I’ve only had one week of school fool you because, the school year is in full swing. I’ve already had my first two quizzes! Yes, along with homework, the amount of studying you have to do for tests and quizzes have also increased. </span></b></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 19px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Friends are the ones who stay with you every step of the way. They help you when you need it especially during middle school years. In my first year, one of the things I was worried about was meeting my old friends and making new ones. Later, I found out I had nothing to worry about. I don’t necessarily have the same friends I did in elementary school like, and I’m fine with that. As long as I have friends with me, I know everything will be alright. </span></div>
<b id="internal-source-marker_0.11580975027754903" style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 19px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Middle school is an excellent experience. It’s a great transition because when wed came in we were only eleven and now we’re teenagers. The difference is overwhelming and it’s the biggest roller coaster ride of all. We experience many changes and it might not be great every step of the way. All we have to do is sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride. </span></b><br />

Instead of writing in paragraphs, I'm going to write you a poem. I hope you like it!</span><br />
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<b><i>Laugh or Cry</i></b></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>Life is a journey</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>There's ups and downs all around</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>But how do we face what's not known</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>Do you laugh or give a frown?</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>Here and there we see new faces</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>Are they all giving back a smile</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>Problems are there but how to solve them</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>Do you figure it out all the while?</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>Our lives our short </i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>So what do we do</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>Cry and frown</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<i>Or tell life I'll always laugh my days through?</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Life is great so how would you spend it? Always remember, everyday may not be good, but there's something good about everyday. So life your heart out and remember to always wear a smile!</span></div>

You can always turn to them for a helping hand. Through good times and bad, they’ll always be with you. Of course, being born into a wealthy, prestigious family made life even better. Our wishes were always fulfilled. We had the perfect house, school, clothes, anything, you name it. Even with all this, my sister and I didn’t understand one thing... there’s always a time in life when you’ll have to struggle. </span><br /><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>It’s been one year now. Anne and I have changed so much. We never would have if the recession hadn’t hit. My father, a financial broker at the Nasdaq building in New York, was a very hard worker. Why did it have to be him? Things were going really well. It happened on a day I remember very clearly, one day that I’ll never forget. </span><br /><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>The day was sunny and bright. We were both thinking the same thing. Our brother was crazy. The two of us ended up following Henry. Everything </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">seemed </span><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">normal. Mom was on the couch searching the web and Dad was in the bathroom. This was Henry’s time to search for proof. He finally found a paper with the Nasdaq company letterhead. It was a letter to Dad. Here’s what it said:</span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Dear Mr.Paterson,</span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">It is to our disappointment that we have come to the decision to fire you. We can’t afford to give everyone their salaries because of the recession. We apologize for the inconvenience.</span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

The bathroom faucet turned on and that was our signal to put the letter back. Then the three of us walked over to the family room to talk things out. </span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

Lizzie... will we have to go to pu... pub... public schools?” </span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

Dad lost his job and all you can think about is clothes and schools? Think about the grief Dad must be going through!”</span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

Instead we’re thinking about ourselves. Are we really that superficial?”</span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

Okay, first thing tomorrow we’ll talk to him. Agreed?”</span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

There was only one problem, he wasn’t there. We didn’t bother asking Mom since we knew he probably went out for a job interview. He didn’t come back until after we ate lunch.</span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

We just want to tell you that we’re here to help you in anyway possible. We love you.”</span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

I love you too. You guys do realize this does mean you can’t take a shopping spree anytime you feel like it, and we might have to move.”</span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

Now as I was saying, I went for three job interviews today. They all went pretty good. We just have to wait for the calls.”</span></div>
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span><br /><div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-indent: 36pt;">

Dad was denied the opportunity of the first two jobs. The last call held the good news we were all waiting for. Yes, he got the job! All of us were filled with joy. Even if it does pay much less than Dad’s old job, we’re still happy with it. Now a year later, life still goes on. It might not be the one we had but we’re thankful. We support each other and that’s all we need. When life doesn’t go your way, you just have to keep on moving forward.</span></div>

Yes, I agree it can be early. Though with a goal in front of them, anyone will do anything to achieve it.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Everyone has a dream for their goal in life. It could vary to becoming a millionaire to going to a good university. Mine is to be a doctor. I want to work in a hospital and take care of newborn babies. Babies are adorable and I have always loved to care for them. Starting from helping my mom with my brother to my current one year old cousin. Mostly I like to feed and play with them while seeing the smile on their faces. I would like to do the same thing for other parents. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> One of the main reason I've always wanted to be a doctor is because I would have the ability to help people. In this case it is babies and parents. I'd like to keep the babies happy and healthy while keeping their parents reassured that their baby is in safe hands. It has always been my goal to help people in some way when I'm older. Now I've found the perfect way to do it. All I need is determination, inspiration, and perseverance. I will never give up my dream and I will always have faith in myself.</span><br />

I predict it will be about a man living in an imperfect, chaotic world. He tries to imagine himself living in a perfect world, the total opposite of where he is living. His dream becomes reality by him "giving" all he can to help his city. I ask myself and you, what is a perfect world?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;"> Everyone has their own definition of a perfect world. For me, there is world peace, no pollution, no poverty, and everyone is treated the same. There is no war, like the ones going on now, the world is clean, instead of a big mess, and there aren't any poor people or people that are treated differently. A day in my perfect world would be to go to school later and come back earlier, spending more time with friends and family, and being outside more often. Everyone would want a perfect world. The question is, if we can dream one, can't we make one? </span><br />

I Don't Know What To Write About!<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> One of the most annoying thing that can happen in English is writer's block. It's when you have to write something, but you don't have one single idea in your brain. All writers experience it. Today that happened to me.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> That is why I am writing this post. To explain why writer's block can really bother you. You either run out of inspiration or ideas, or you get easily distracted. If you have experienced this, which I know all of you have, you can easily understand my condition. Why, I'm writing about writer's block, while having it at the same time! That probably is very surprising, but it's true. Can you believe it? A person is having writer's block while telling people about it! This may be weird though it is a common condition for all writers. They just need to get through it and at the end, they make a masterpiece.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img height="240" src="http://kismet.blogs.com/.a/6a00d8341c928153ef0112796ec55b28a4-800wi" width="320" /> </span><img height="104" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjerGDcb6xTM75c9AvOw5cNCH4NuJcJbuxVmUYFnqDEG1-LkI5gn6gnZExh19geyV_vke3uhzOWuDreuAePOsfusg_Gv76qXVcFzVl7XQALHQdWtMGKqzGfqFxdIP3SYErXYJUCEGqjIl4/s320/writers-block.jpg" width="320" /><br />

Unless both of your parents are little people too. But in this case it isn't. Anyway it is fun most of the time, but frustrating in others. It's only a family of four, my dad and mom and my brother and I. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;"> Of course siblings can be really annoying, but in the end you have to love them. Even if he gets on my nerves by putting stuff where I can't reach it (my brother is eight but a lot taller). The point is that even if most of my things in the house are not to my reach, I still have help. Plus, when I am with my family I don't realize that I have a different height than I am supposed to. Family is very important and without one it is almost impossible to live life.</span><br />

She is a senior and is reaching the </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">end of the school year planning what she will do in college. Isabella or "Bella" as her friends call her, is a perfect student. The type that teenagers want to be, popular, intelligent, beautiful, athletic and fun to be with. She has a perfect grade point average and is kind to everyone she meets. Isabella figures she has done nothing wrong until... she gets called down to the principal's office.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> It was during passing while Isabella and her friends were headed to their favorite class, English. A moment later there was an announcement," Isabella Peterson, report to the principal's office!"made by the principal herself, Mrs.Kennedy. Isabella's books fell out of her arms, her friends were astonished. I didn't do anything wrong, she thought.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"Do you want one of us to come with you Bella?"one of her friends offered. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"No, it's fine, really. I wouldn't want you guys to be late for class." she replied.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Her friends said unsure"Okay then. See you later."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> As Bella walked slowly to Mrs.Kennedy's office she couldn't figure out what she did wrong. She said to herself, " I get straight A's. I do what I'm told. I am always nice to anyone I meet. What could I have done wrong?... Could it be? Would I really be in trouble for doing that? I only did it once. I WOULD NEVER do it again!" There it was. The door to her office. Bella turned the door knob reluctantly as she walked in.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">She asked, " May I come in, Mrs.Kennedy?</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"Oh. Isabella is that you? We have something very important to discuss." the principal stated.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">'Uh oh,' Bella thought.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"Isabella I am very..."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"Disappointed I know. I mean how could a student like me forget a single homework assignment? That is very..."</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"Isabella,"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"Irresponsible I know. How could I just let that slip out of my head?"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"Isabella, this is not about your missed homework assignment."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"It isn't?" Isabella just stared at her. " Then what did I do wrong?"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"You did nothing wrong my dear. I just wanted to tell you how proud I was of you. Remember those four college applications you filled out?"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"The ones to Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and John Hopkins? Of course I remember them. I sent them three weeks ago."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">" Yes, and since you are such a great student, they said they would be delighted in accepting you. Along with that, you are one of the top five students with a scholarship to any of these four colleges. This has given me the decision to make you valedictorian of your class." Mrs.Kennedy smiled. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Isabella's jaw dropped open. She was ecstatic. "That's amazing! I can't believe this! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"You are very welcome. I am delighted to have a student like you. You may now proceed to your regular routine."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> So she left to her English class. She couldn't wait to tell her friends and parents. This was one day of high school she would always remember. The only problem was... she couldn't choose which college she wanted to go to. She was stuck between Stanford and John Hopkins. Stanford was closer to home so that beat the tie for her. Isabella couldn't be more happier. Her hard work paid off after all.</span><br />

Yes, we could live a day without them, like on they weekends, but when they moved can you really? No, we may not. This is the time where we learn the importance of a friend. How the friend not only becomes a companion, but a <em><strong>gift</strong>. </em></span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSIssdScaZj461GoZgkcz2RRpolW_bMRYY3wKRs_CMS2ovjrJVF" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" class="rg_hi" data-height="225" data-width="225" height="225" id="rg_hi" src="http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSIssdScaZj461GoZgkcz2RRpolW_bMRYY3wKRs_CMS2ovjrJVF" style="height: 225px; width: 225px;" width="225" /></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> They could be the most important gift of all out of everything you have recieved on a holiday or your birthday. For they are much more valuable than a jewl or a toy that only gives you happiness for less than a year. This is such since you see something special about your friend everyday. They can become so close to you that they can act as another sibling. A family member in which you can never live without.</span></div><span style="font-family: Arial;"> Everyone has friends. They make us happy. We'll cherish them forever and never forget them. They are <strong><em>one of a kind</em></strong>. Nothing in the world can replace them.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">This post is deticated to all my friends. I will always take the time to remember you.</span><br />

There is always a specific time for everything. Starting from the time you wake up to the time you have to go to sleep. Without our regular routine we wouldn't be doing the same thing everyday. For example, a regular day for a student like me is, you wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, go to school, come home, do homework, relax and go to any extra classes/activities, eat dinner, spend time with family while watching t.v., and go to sleep. Same thing everyday for five days.</span><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> What if everyday would be different? Even though there is something new in store everyday, the theme still stays the same. When living everyday differently there is more suspense to your day. You might look foward to it more. How about if only our attiduede was different. That we would act as if everyday, we are seeing the world for the first time.</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> It is because of the ruler of Libya himself. His name is Muammar Gaddafi. He has planned to dictate Libya, already ruling for forty two years. The citizen want a government based on democracy. They would like a new ruler and the choice of that ruler. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> The problem started with many protesters asking for Gaddafi to stop ruling the country. This caused havoc and made Gaddafi loose control of Libya. Now they re fighting for justice will Gaddafi won't give up. He wants to still be a ruler and take control. Now our own country has gotten into the problem and are trying to save innocent lives. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Will Gaddafi give up. Will America succeed? Will Libyan citizens finally get their justice and liberty? When will these questions be answered?</span><br />

We have all used it before and it is why we have the things we do today. Imagine how far a little piece of paper or metal has gotten in thousands of years. Dollar, pound, rupee, euro, these are all different types of money used in different countries.We use dollars, England uses pounds, India uses rupees, and most of Europe uses euros. They all hold one purpose, and that is to buy our necessities. </span></div><span style="font-family: Arial;"> What if money was never used? That the person who discovered it never came up with it. Everything would be for free and for no values. People wouldn't have to worry about being rich or poor because we would all be in the same class. Each thing would have the same value as the next. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;"> Which world would you rather live in. One with money or one without? A world in which everything has a different value or a world in which everything would have the same value? </span>Simranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04185129000071918101noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6948875417746397381.post-11589181498593392912011-03-18T15:05:00.000-07:002011-03-18T15:05:33.926-07:00Great and Poor Teachers<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSWhEYg6rJUq14RNhXBy9BLHyLDEX6JYYapP_U0P-zG1XdvIf7o7g" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" class="rg_hi" data-height="203" data-width="248" height="203" id="rg_hi" src="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSWhEYg6rJUq14RNhXBy9BLHyLDEX6JYYapP_U0P-zG1XdvIf7o7g" style="height: 203px; width: 248px;" width="248" /></a> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Today in English we watched four videos. One of them was about what great and poor teachers do differently. Great teachers enhance your learning and make you want to think every morning, 'What am I going to learn today?'. Poor teachers just write on the board and just tell you to write the notes down, therefore thinking that the notes will explain everything and the teacher doesn't have to explain anything. We all have teachers like I said in both of these examples. </span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Great teachers explain everything to you until it's in your head and you understand it. They'll do anything they can to make sure that you know what goes on during lessons. It's their job to teach. They take it as a gift, not a sorrow. They want you to be the best you can.</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRk1xozWXgM5lMseky7wxhvlVa5U2nTzJ816iLEGZFJhMCKly5dWg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" class="rg_hi" data-height="158" data-width="200" height="158" id="rg_hi" src="http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRk1xozWXgM5lMseky7wxhvlVa5U2nTzJ816iLEGZFJhMCKly5dWg" style="height: 158px; width: 200px;" width="200" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Poor teachers are the opposite. They don't care what goes in your brain, they are just their to do their jobs. That is to write down notes on the board, let you copy it, and get paid. It might even seem that they are the reason that some students get poor grades. </span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> Now you see the difference between these teachers. We have them both. Whether we like them or not. All of them has their own way of teahing.</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span>Simranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04185129000071918101noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6948875417746397381.post-84654790341099141912011-03-11T09:21:00.000-08:002011-03-11T09:21:32.958-08:00Chores, Chores, Chores<a href="http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcROwvB5NwSqiPD2inR7PULIFXyfyHaffaJd8FYQUsQxMAays2pjNw" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="199" src="http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcROwvB5NwSqiPD2inR7PULIFXyfyHaffaJd8FYQUsQxMAays2pjNw" width="200" /></a> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Chores, the dreaded word that most kids aren't very fond of. We all have to do them. There's no doubt about it. Here's my question though. Why do most kids prefer not to do them? Is it because it takes to much time? To kids, they feel like they have much better things to do than help around the house all day. Not for me. I for one, love to do my chores.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Chores are fun to me. I don't know why kids are complaining about it , when all you have to do is, do it. Washing the dishes, cleaning the room, making my bed, helping with dinner, vacuuming the floor, I love to do them all. It takes up my time when I'm bored or have nothing to do. Helping my parents feels good. It takes work off their shoulders after a hard day.</span><br />
<a href="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSsEI65ifMY1a9ERdgIkg7O6OlTptuZz6gZSjzelpgDVO1KhzFr" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSsEI65ifMY1a9ERdgIkg7O6OlTptuZz6gZSjzelpgDVO1KhzFr" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Parents feel relieved when their kids help them. Doing one simple deed can make their day easier. Don't you love seeing the smile on their face, after you're done and you can't help but smiling too? It's a simple task, and you can learn to love it. After all, you will be mastering these chores when you're older, and you have no choice but to do them. This is just our training.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> So learn to do them and soon love them. This is just the beginning before we get to do harder tasks. It's not even a chore when we are used to doing it. It becomes a part of our daily routine. Not just something our parents ask us to do. Chores, chores, chores, do them, love them, be good at them.</span>Simranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04185129000071918101noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6948875417746397381.post-34300198255204504962011-03-04T13:48:00.000-08:002011-03-04T13:48:54.676-08:00Percy Jackson and the Olympians<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Percy Jackson and the Olympians are my favorite series. It consists of five books about a boy, Percy Jackson, and his life as a demigod. The books mix with fiction and Greek mythology. Percy is the son of Poseidon, the sea god and one of the three main gods(Zeus and Hades) are the other two. All demigods or half-bloods have to go to Camp Half-Blood every summer to be safe and train to fight monsters. There, they realize that Percy is the one of the Great Prophecy and when he turns sixteen he has to make a decision that either saves the world or ends it. Now I am going to give a brief summary of all five books so you know more about them.</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: large;"><strong>The Lightning Thief: </strong></span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a class="image" href="http://www.blogger.com/wiki/File:Lightning_thief.jpg" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Lightning thief.jpg" height="200" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6b/Lightning_thief.jpg" width="133" /></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">Percy finds out he is the son of Poseidon and goes to Camp Half-Blood for the first time. He goes on his first quest with his new friends, Grover a satyr and Annabeth a daughter of Athena, to find Zeus's master lightning bolt. After fighting many monsters the team finds the lightning bolt and returns it to Zeus on Olympus(sixhundreth floor of the Empire State Building) and Percy finally gets to meet his father.</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><strong><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">Sea of Monsters: </span></strong></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a class="image" href="http://www.blogger.com/wiki/File:PercySeamonsters.gif" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img alt="PercySeamonsters.gif" height="200" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/46/PercySeamonsters.gif/225px-PercySeamonsters.gif" width="133" /></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">Percy has a new cabin mate in the Poseidon cabin, his half brother Tyson who is a cyclops. Thalia's tree(a daughter of Zeus was turned into a tree and protects the camp's borders)is dying and the only way to save it is to retrieve the golden fleece. Another quest is given and Percy, Tyson, Grover, Annabeth, and Clarisse(daughter of Ares) go to accomplish it. They get the golden fleece and the magic was so strong that Thalia came back alive herself.</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><strong><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The Titan's Curse:</span></strong></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a class="image" href="http://www.blogger.com/wiki/File:The_titan%27s_curse.jpg" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="The titan's curse.jpg" height="200" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/3c/The_titan%27s_curse.jpg/250px-The_titan%27s_curse.jpg" width="138" /></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The three friends are on a mission to get Bianca and Nico di Angelo to Camp Half-Blood. Then Annabeth and Artemis go missing. Percy, Thalia, Zoe(a hunter of Artemis), Bianca, and Grover go find the monster Artemis went searching for. They find the monster Bianca and Zoe get killed(Bianca because of a monster, Zoe was killed by her father, a Titan). Annabeth is found and Zoe becomes a new constellation. </span></div><strong><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">Battle of the Labyrinth:</span></strong><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a class="image" href="http://www.blogger.com/wiki/File:PercyBattleLabyrinth.jpg" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img alt="PercyBattleLabyrinth.jpg" height="200" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/bf/PercyBattleLabyrinth.jpg/250px-PercyBattleLabyrinth.jpg" width="133" /></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">During a camp battle Annabeth and Percy find an entrance to the Labyrinth. Luke could use this maze to get past camp borders and destroy it. Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Tyson try to find Ariadne's string and Daedalus(creator of the Labyrinth) before Luke, they don't. At the end they find that Kronos is taking over Lukes body and in a matter of months will be able to destroy Olympus.</span><strong><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">The Last Olympian:</span></strong></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">As Percy's sixteenth birthday is coming up, the camp is getting ready to find Kronos's army. The gods are busy fighting Typhon, an enormus monster. They fight many monsters during the war and defeat Kronos with Luke also getting killed. With all of their accomplishments they get great prizes, and Olympus is saved.</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a class="image" href="http://www.blogger.com/wiki/File:Lastolympian.gif"><img alt="Lastolympian.gif" height="200" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/99/Lastolympian.gif/250px-Lastolympian.gif" width="130" /></a></div><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> Now you know why I love the series so much. It is filled with action, suspense, and interesting facts about Greek gods. I recommend for many of you to read this series and I know you'll love it as much as I do. Books are a treasure, don't ignore it.</span></div>Simranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04185129000071918101noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6948875417746397381.post-80055421382932669842011-02-25T15:41:00.000-08:002011-03-04T13:49:35.821-08:00Jyoti Amge<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br />

Well that isn't true. You see a group of girls and one much shorter than all the others but all of them are the same age. Would you believe that they are all in the age range of fifteen to seventeen years old? </span></div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> The significant girl in the middle is named Jyoti Amge. She is only two feet tall and weighs about seven pounds. She lives in Nagpur, India with her four brothers and sisters. She plans to be a Bollywood actress when she grows up (Bollywood is where films in India get made, much like Hollywood in California). This girl has gone through a challenging life with many hopes an dreams.</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> She has gone through many surgeries and check ups. Her attitude and smile can make any one's day. It seems that it doesn't even matter that she is shorter than anyone else.</span></div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

It Jyoti doesn't care about how short she is, why do the rest of us care about how we look, what we wear, what we do, and who we hang out with. We should all be thankful for what we have and live life as it is with a positive attitude.</span></div></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/-0qvGTeuC-s?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>Simranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04185129000071918101noreply@blogger.com3
